Elea proudly announces Professor Dr.-Ing Stefan Toepfl as the new Managing Director. Stefan brings over 15 years experiences in PEF Technology, (Novel) Process Technologies, Food Engineering and academic education as a Professor in Germany and California.

2006 Stefan received a PhD in food process engineering from Berlin Technical University. From there he moved on to commence his career at the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL) where he has since developed processing technologies for food industry and equipment manufacturers and has been active in project and customer acquisition as Head of Business Unit Process Technologies until 2014 and afterwards as Advanced Research Manager up to the end of 2016.

The Georg-Carl-Hahn research award-winner (2009) has also been a teaching professor for Food Process Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück since 2009, and in 2015 he worked as a visiting professor at the Department of Food Science and Technology at University of California, Davis, teaching Advanced Food Processing Techniques. Offering students a great opportunity for international exchange and hands-on training since 2011 he has also acted as the coordinator of the International Summer Lab Special Food Technologies and Food Process Design.

Since its establishment in 2012 Stefan has been an important part of Elea as a consultant in science and research as well as dealing with matters in respect to patent law. We are now looking forward to working much more closely with him at Elea as he assumes the function of our Managing Director and wish him all the best in his new role.
