23RD INNOVATION DAY 2016

2nd Jun 2016. Berlin, Germany.

23rd Innovation Day of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

On the 2nd of June 2016, Elea will attend the 23rd Innovation Day of the German “Mittelstand” (German mid-sized companies) of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. The ministry invited research institutions and their industry partners to present their current research projects and innovations at an exhibition in the garden of the AiF (The German Federation of Industrial Research Associations).

Together with the Technical University Berlin (TU Berlin) and the FEI (Research Group of the German Food Industry), we will present an example of cooperative industrial research where a PEF-assisted drying process has been developed for a variety of fruits and vegetables. With the help of

new technologies a more efficient drying process was achieved, resulting in much lower energy use, shorter processing times and a better product quality.

As Elea we will also present our CellCrack II Batch model on the FEI’s exhibition stand. Here we can directly demonstrate the effect of PEF on different materials and can explain it to the visitors.

In the picture you can see Hermann Färber, member of the German parliament, looking at PEF-induced color extraction from red beetroot.
