Clarebout is a Belgian manufacturer of frozen French fries and potato flakes with production facilities in Nieuwkerke and Warneton. ELEA GmbH, the world leader in Pulsed Electric Field systems for food processing, has supplied a test system for potato processing to Clarebout in 2018. After successful testing, it has been decided to introduce Elea PEF systems into all French Fries processing lines. Elea PEF technology replaced conventional preheating of potato tubers and reduced overall water and energy consumption. In addition, improved cutting, product yield and quality have been observed.
