We are proud to pronounce our membership in the RisingFoodStars Start-Up Club. We have been selected along with some other choice members to join the Club.

The RisingFoodStars Start-Up Club allows young companies, such as Elea, to contribute to the FoodConnects Consortium and benefit from EU support. Central to the idea is that the knowledge to revolutionize the food value system is as likely to reside in start-ups as in established organizations.

Elea, as our research goes from strength to strength on our own site, is now looking forward to network  with F4F partners and support as well as be supported within specific innovation projects by other members of the RisingFoodStars Start-Up Club and by FoodConnect Consortium members – which in the end will be to the full benefit of our customers.

Interested in more? So, what exactly is the RisingFoodStars Start-Up Club? The European Institute of Innovations & Technology (EIT), an integral part of the EU’s research and innovation framework Horizon 2020, has the goal of creating a new European way of delivering essential economic growth and societal benefits through innovation. Therefore, they form dynamic cross-border partnerships – the Knowledge and Innovation Communities – known as KICs. A KIC brings together leading higher education institutions, research labs and companies in order to develop innovative products and services, start new companies, and train a new generation of entrepreneurs.

One of the most recent KIC’s was in the field of agricultural- and food industry, the ‘EIT Food’ or ‘F4F KIC’: The Knowledge and Innovation Community for Food4Future – Supply Chain from Resources to Consumers. It is made up of the ‘FoodConnects Consortium’which comprises 50 partners who meet the EIT Food requirements. In fact, there are 49 partners of top-level research institutes and universities as well as highly innovative SMEs and leading multinational companies covering the European agricultural, food and nutrition industry. The 50th partner is the RisingFoodStars Start-Up Club consisting of young companies or Start-Ups.

The RisingFoodStars Start-Up Club allows young companies, such as Elea, to contribute to the FoodConnects Consortium and benefit from EU support. The central idea is that the knowledge to revolutionize the food value system is as likely to reside in start-ups as in established organizations.

It will give selected Start-ups the opportunity to fully participate in the F4F KIC’s funding for innovation investments, to network with the FoodConnects Consortium members, and to drive the agenda of the F4F KIC.
