The 15th European PhD Workshop on Food Engineering and Technology has been organised by the Section on Food of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) in cooperation with DIL German Institute of Food Technologies and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) Vienna. The event is supported by an industry board consisting of Nestlé, Bühler, GNT and Elea. and has been hosted by Bühler Group in Uzwil, Switzerland
The European Workshop on Food Engineering and Technology is organized every year with the best PhD students of Europe presenting their recent results. After a national preselection, 18 PhD candidates from all over Europe presented their work to an international jury during this year’s workshop on May 10 and 11th.
Topics covered included process and equipment design, product formulation and sustainability. With 18 great contributions, the competition has been very tight. The use of Pulsed Electric Fields has been discussed in three of the talks.
